Relay for Life Ennis 2018
Relay for Life Ennis.
Relay For Life is a 24 hour event
where the entire community comes together to celebrate life, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back by raising awareness about the disease. Relay is happening in Ennis in June 2018.
Relay for Life Ennis has been spearheaded
by our own Auriol Considine & Elaine Gannon. The ladies football
have 1 team in the bag and are close to a second and we are hoping
that we can get at least one more team from Éire Óg members.
It's the 23rd / 24th June 24 hours, teams will have 12/13 people and commit
to having at least one person on the track at all times for the 24 hours.
We are also looking for survivors to come on the day and take part in the event.
A survivor is anyone who has had cancer or is currently in treatment, and they, and their families will be the VIPs on the day.
All the information is available on the following link
and on this Relay for life Ennis Facebook page:
If anyone has any questions they can contact Auriol directly on 087-983 3368.
We'll be closing applications for teams in 4 weeks so that fundraising events
can be organised etc. It would be great to see a strong support from the Éire Óg contingent.
Match reports for senior hurling & football league games can be found on this site under the Club News tab.
La na gClub postponed
Due to astroturf refurb, it has been decided to postpone the Club family day (La na gClub) which was scheduled for the May Bank Holiday weekend.
It is expected to run this on Sat June 16th along with the annual Rocky Ramble.
Updates on these events will be circulated closer to the time.
You will be happy to hear works begin on the upgrading of the astroturf starting next Monday, 23rd April.
This means the astro will be out of bounds for about 4 weeks, thanks for your patience during this time, we look forward to seeing the end result.
Please remember to adhere to safety signs in that area for the duration of the works, and to remind our younger members of this, they'll be naturally curious as we all will!
U14 hurling championship
**Venue update: This game will now take place in Éire Óg at the same throw in time 6.30pm this eve.**
1st round of U14 hurling championship takes place Friday 6th April at 6.30pm in Inagh. Come down and show your support for the lads
This is the first time Éire Óg will compete in The U14 Division “A” Championship since the formation of Éire Óg Academy in 2012 after the breakup of the old Urban Board units in Ennis.
Competing in Div “A” is not the end game but it is a by-product of a fun, well structured and well coached environment where children get a chance to learn the skill of GAA while the children remain the center focus and not the winning of championships........but it was still nice to win 5 competitions last year.
